Recycling Information 2Beginning in January 2007 the Recycling Day has changed from Wednesday to Thursday. 

What to Include

Sort 1                                              Sort 2

* rinsed food and beverage                * mail,office and school papers

cans (aluminum & tin)                        * magazines and catalogs

* glass bottles and jars                       * newspapers and inserts

* plastic bottles w/narrow                 * phone books

neck                                                * shredded paper in  closed paper bags

                                                       * cardboard boxes (flattened and  3'x3' or 

                                                          smaller

                                                      * cereal, cracker, pasta, cake mix boxes

                                                      * shoe, gift, electronics boxes

                                                      * toothpaste, medication boxes

Food box guidelines: boxes from items meant to go in your cupboard (cereal, etc) are generally recyclable.  Packages for refrigerated and microwaveable products such as frozen entrees are usually coated in ways that make them unacceptable for recycling. 

How to Prepare

* place recycling in paper bags (plastic bags are not acceptable)

* place in your recycle cart or bin for pick up
